Content of Radio Broadcast Scheduled for May 17 (Part 2 of 3)

More background prior to upcoming radio program.

Editor's Note:  George Weber is scheduled to be a guest on 1220 AM KLPW Radio All Talk in Washington, MO, on May 17 from 9:15 a.m. to 10 a m. during the Diane Jones Morning Show.

I have given a lifetime of service to the community, state and nation, all within the Second Congressional District. I was born in Eureka in 1925, and am a graduate of Eureka High School 1942.
 

  • Attended UMC College of Engineering, plus ROTC 1942-43.
  • Entered U S Marines in 1944 with an honorable discharge in 1946.
  • Began farming and joined Farm Bureau 1947.
  • Elected to Board of MO Farm Bureau 1951-196; Helped design and promote the Farm Bureau Life Insurance Co., Farm Bureau Building Corporation; Expanded the Farm Bureau Service Corporation and am still active in Farm Bureau after 65 years, being a grain and livestock farmer.
  • I was licensed Real estate broker for over 50 years and helped get original growth in the City of Eureka.
  • Had a 2003 visit to China to explore the establishment of a Chinese Consulate to serve the St. Louis Area as part of my 2004 campaign for Congress then.
  • Knights of Columbus-- 68 years of service at Sacred Heart Eureka and Monsignor Hildner Assembly,4th Degree in Washington, MO.
  • Senior member of Eureka O'Brien Post, 65 years and Past Commander
  • Franklin County Honor Flight in 2008 to the WWII Memorial.
  • President of Eureka Chamber of Commerce 1960-Original Presiding Officer of Eureka Industrial Corp TIF.
  • Elected to MO House of Representative in 1964, and have been a candidate many times, even the nominee in the Second District in 2004 and 2006.
  • There I became an active supporter of "Democrats for Life."
  • I was an accredited member of the International Society of Livestock Appraisers and American Farm Equipment Appraisers.
  • Was a VISTA Volunteer at Missouri Eastern Correctional Center, Pacific, 1982-84 as head of the VIC Volunteer Coordinator at the Prison and in 2005 was part of Americorps 40 anniversary publication as an example of what over 160,000 Vista had accomplished in the first 40 years.
  • I then retired as a Corrections Officer in 1990.
