All I Wanted Was a List of Candidates

Did you ever have printer problems?

I have the email address in which Robin Carnahan, Missouri Secretary of State, lists the names of those who are currently filed for the many offices up for election this year.

I heard that one who had filed against me (for the 2nd Congressional District bid) had dropped out to enter his name for Lt. Governor, and when reading the cover letter to the list found that voters in Missouri now have 576 candidates from which to chose in the August Primary.

So, without much thinking and the fact that I have a new laser printer of which I have limited operating knowledge, I clicked "Print" and away we went. Suddenly I saw I had reached page 40 of the 100 pages, and I didn't know how to turn it off. I finally ran out of paper at number 54.

Guess what. After I filled the paper supply and said go, it finished the job, but at about 94 I had a paper jam and the Brother printer then just said error, and does nothing.

I have looked at all the paperwork that came with the instrument, but it doesn't tell me what happened. I do have a print out of all the candidates except for a few judges. I hope I can get the printer to operate again.

At least I have the list and a topic for a blog.
