Community Corner

Operation Wild Lands Volunteer Opportunity

Join the Open Space Council for an OWLs event at Young Conservation Area in the La Barque Creek Watershed in Northwestern Jefferson County.  The event will run from 9 a.m.- 12 p.m. and will focus on the removal of old split rail fences and posts, which will enhance the natural environment of the Conservation Area. OWL volunteers assist with the proactive management of public open space to improve wildlife habitat and nature-related outdoor recreation.

This is a great opportunity for girl and boy scouts, as well as community service time! Participants under the age of 18 must have a guardian accompany them at this event.
