Lafayette Grad Killed as Motorcyclist

A 2008 Lafayette High School graduate, now from north St. Louis County, was the motorcyclist killed Tuesday afternoon after a chain-reaction crash along Missouri Route 141 in Fenton.

Aaron Becker, a 2008 graduate, died in a multivehicle chain-reaction accident Tuesday. He was on a motorcycle at the time of the incident.

A Missouri State Highway Patrol report indicated Becker, 22, of Florissant, was sitting idle with two other vehicles on northbound Missouri Route 141 at Gravois Bluffs Road at approximately 4:23 p.m. Tuesday. All three vehicles were stopped at a red traffic signal when the driver of a northbound recreation vehicle entered the intersection and failed to stop. The other two motorists, both from Fenton, were driving a car and a pickup truck.

The driver of the recreational vehicle, Robert Weiter, of St. Louis, crashed into the back of the car and truck, but continued moving and then struck the back of Becker's motorcycle.

The impact ejected Becker from the cycle and into the path of the still moving recreational vehicle, which then struck Becker.

Authorities stated in the report Becker was pronounced dead at the crash scene just minutes later.
