Gyms and Fitness Centers in West St. Louis County

Looking to tackle those New Year's 2013 resolutions? Here are some places in West County to help you out.

If you're a New Year's resolution-maker, that means it's time to jump on a plan to keep those commitments in 2013, whether you're looking to better a trait, take up a hobby, or hit the gym to get in shape. Patch can help with that one.

Patch has a list of area gyms and fitness centers you can check out to find the best one for you and your resolutions. If you're already a fitness fan and keeping to a work-out habit, which places do you recommend?

Eureka Fitness

This location specializes in Zumba fitness classes, but offers a variety of programs, starting at $8 per class with special packaging options available.

YMCA

The Y locations in Wildwood and Chesterfield have a variety of programs for all ages. From swim teams to a run on the track, the Y has a few types ofmemberships available as well as scholarships for those looking to get fit on a tight budget.

Snap Fitness

Locations in Eureka and Chesterfield are open 24/7, with memberships availableindividually, for two adults, or a family plan. 

Connie's Total Fitness for Men and Women

Connie's in Eureka boasts a small gym feel for those just looking for a work-out. Contact the location for membership information.

The Pointe at Ballwin Commons

Ballwin's fitness and recreation center is offering a 13-month membership for the price of 12 during December and January. An open house is set for Jan. 12, with free admission all day and a special membership package with free activation and waived first payment. The Pointe offers spinning, TRX, yoga, Pilates, and water aerobics classes to name a few. Visit the Ballwin city website for a schedule of classes and programs. The Pointe is open to all with a special rate for Ballwin residents.

Life Time Fitness

Life Time in Ellisville is offering a free commitment package and waived enrollment fee for new memberships through Dec. 31. The gym offers a variety of classes and programs, with activities for the whole family. 

Wellbridge Athletic Club and Spa

The Town and Country fitness club offers a variety of classes and a coaching program to help new members get in the groove. Aquatics, personal training, yoga, pilates, spinning and TRX are a few program options Wellbridge hosts. First-time guests are eligible for a free trial pass, and a $59 enrollment special is going on now.

Curves

The Curves program is oriented for women looking to lose weight and get healthy, combining a meal plan, exercise and coaching. A free consultation is offered and the Curves website says women can join the program for $12.95/week with a 6-month commitment. Curves has area locations in Ballwin, Ellisville and Manchester. 

The Boxing Gym

The Boxing Gym in Ballwin focuses on intense exercises from mixed martial arts to kickboxing or personal training. The website is offering an online-only special for a 14-day cardio fitness program for $19.95

Gold's Gym

This gym in Manchester has a variety of enrollment options and offers classes as well as training space, boasting the latest equipment to get and stay in shape.

Anytime Fitness

Anytime Fitness locations are open 24/7, making it convenient for awkward schedules. The Ballwin location has a free 7-day trial pass and an offer through Dec. 31 to get started for $10.

The Bar Method

The Bar Method is a full body work-out program that incorporates dance conditioning and interval training. Classes can be purchased starting at $10 for a single class with other packages available. The nearest Bar Method location is in Town and Country.

PerforMax Fitness

PerforMax Fitness in Town and County emphasizes one-on-one training for your body type and needs. Contact the location to set up an assessment.

Blue Ocean Fitness

Blue Ocean Fitness in Chesterfield also has personal trainers to help individualize a work-out routine, specializing in weight loss and corrective exercise. Their average clients are men and women 35-55 years old.

Ours is named, "Turpeester"... I'm sure whatever he is doing he is having a fun time, out running around... I will pray for Leo making it back to you!!! Good luck!

How does farming a piece of property instead of allowing it to sit vacant actually decrease its tax assessments? It doesn't change the zoning. What is the zoning of the property? If residential, how much corn do I need to plant on my extra property to decrease my property assessment?
