Greensfelder Hikers Celebrate Parks, Veterans

Area adventurers gather in St. Louis County park to enjoy it while they can.

A group of hikers from the Meet-Up group, St. Louis Adventure Group, came out to on Friday to show their support for St. Louis county parks. They came to Greensfelder because it's one of the parks slated to be .

About a dozen hikers came out. The St. Louis Adventure Group has about 1,500 members total. These hikers came from West County, St. Louis and Belleville, IL.

The conversation among the hikers as they were getting ready was about the money they spend on their outings. They mentioned gas they buy, meals at restaurants, and clothing they buy at local shops for their outings.

Several mentioned that they visit St. Louis County parks at least a couple times a week.

"It would be a shame to lose half our parks," hike organizer Traci Isom said.
