Census Showcases Growth for Eureka and Wildwood
Patterns, as well as new details, follow for Eureka, Wildwood and Missouri.
Census figures for Missouri were released Thursday evening, indicating that Eureka had grown in population by 33 percent while Wildwood has grown by 8 percent over the past decade.
The estimated population in 2000 for was 7,676; the 2010 total is estimated at 10,189. It represents an increase of 2,513 residents.
The estimated population in 2000 for was 32,884; the 2010 total is estimated at 35,517. It represents an increase of 2,633 residents.

The number of voting-aged residents in both Wildwood and Eureka increased, as evidenced in the table that accompanies this article.

Missouri’s population is 5,988,927 as of April 1, 2010, and showed a growth of 393,716 persons, or 7 percent, during the first decade of the new millennium, according to a release from the Missouri Office of Administration. The nation’s population had grown at a rate of 10 percent during the same period. Missouri and the nation grew at a slightly slower pace this last decade than in the 1990s. Missouri grew at a rate of 9 percent in the 1990s, while the nation’s growth rate was 13 percent during that same period.
Due to population adjustments, Missouri will lose a , resulting in only eight members of the U.S. House of Representatives in 2013.
