Black History Speakers Offered at Wildwood College

Description:  Kwabena Tandoh will share the story of how he came to the United States and why he plans to return to Africa to contribute to the development of the continent. Tandoh will share information on the history of Africa and his home country of Ghana. He currently is completing his doctorate's degree at St. Louis University and is a former St. Louis Community College faculty member. He received his master's degree of social work and social development from the University of Connecticut’s School of Social Work in West Hartford, CT, in 2005. He received his bachelor's degree in Urban and Community Planning from the University of Connecticut, Storrs, CT, in 2003.

Drums and Music of Africa

Time:  1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Location:  Multipurpose Room on campus

Description:  Drums and Music of Africa is presented by Emmy-winning storyteller Bobby Norfolk and drummer Kenya Ajanaku. This exciting program, which played to standing ovations at the Smithsonian Institution, takes you on a journey to Africa through folktales and music.
