Learn to Save a Life

Lifeguarding is not all like the old Baywatch TV show. It's an important job that requires skills and extensive knowledge. The Wildwood YMCA is offering two upcoming Lifeguard Courses.

For quite some time, who has been called "America’s Lifeguard?" Former President Ronald Reagan.

And it’s been said, that as a YMCA lifeguard in Dixon, IL, Reagan saved 77 lives over the course of seven years. Today, lifeguards across the country are saving more than a staggering 100,000 lives a year.

The YMCA believes that lifeguards must be certified and prepared to recognize and prevent problems as well as to perform rescues. Two Lifeguard Classes, one beginning April 30 and the other May 24, are being offered at the .
