Back To School: Strength Inside and Out

A Self Defense for Girls class empowers and builds confidence. If you have a girl ages 8-15, put it on your back-to-school list for Aug. 18. It's free and space is limited.

While you’re busy buying backpacks and packing pencils, you may not think that a self-defense session belongs on your back-to-school list. But if you have a girl between the ages of 8 and 15, a session such as this may be one of the most empowering and confidence-building experiences you can give to them. 

And there's a free Self Defense for Girls session coming up on Aug. 18 at the . In less than three hours, students will be taught how to be aware of their surroundings and how to avoid dangerous situations. They’ll also learn basic self-defense moves and techniques. The instructor will be a 17-year old local high school student who is also a third degree black belt. She is deeply passionate about self defense and wants to share with girls what she’s learned.

Her instructor, fourth degree black belt and Y Tae Kwon Do instructor Chuck Luntz, will be alongside her.
