Understanding that sex trafficking in the U.S. increases dramatically around the events of the Super Bowl, it would be extraordinary to have a commercial about a business that is in the business of freedom.

To have a commercial featuring a startup business from St. Louis alongside some of the most viewed commercial of the year would be a powerful statement for the entrepreneurial spirit of St. Louis.

Made for Freedom is a social enterprise fashion line made up of colorful and chic pants, from which 20% of its proceeds will help provide preventative measures as well as life skills and job training for trafficking survivors.

The enterprise started by Dawn Manske, St. Louis native. The impetus of the business came when numerous compliments about Dawn’s international pants came together with the concepts of Social Enterprises (using business strategies to benefit society) and a desire to help survivors of sex trafficking.

The pants are inspired by ‘fisherman’ pants from Thailand, but have been redesigned to make them more flattering and unique. Dancers, yoga enthusiasts and karate hopefuls love them. Perfect for anyone who enjoys being comfortable with a little bohemian flare. These pants fit sizes 0 – 16. That means, unlike that stack of jeans we all have on the shelf that aren’t quite the right size, these pants still fit even if you lose or gain 5 pounds!
