Wildwood Hotel Welcomes Pets

Speak to Wildwood Hotel representative at the Patch Pet Party in Wildwood Town Center between 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Monday for the Halloween pet parade and contest. Win trophies and prizes -- lots of pet-related giveaways, treats and candy for humans!

Visiting pets have a pet-friendly place to stay in Wildwood. in the city's Town Center welcomes dogs and cats as guests.

Rachel Duewer, director of sales at the hotel, said they enjoy being a pet-friendly hotel. Pet owners can ask about special pet packages that may be available for providing bowls, dishes and treats.

Duewer, who personally has a Dachshund, will be one of the resources onhand at Monday night's Patch Pet Party for Halloween in Wildwood Town Center -- a free, pet-centric Halloween costume parade, contest and chance to talk to pet experts. (See previously published article:

The weight limit for animal hotel guests is 50 pounds.

Duewer said the hotel's location is attractive to dog owners who like to take different types of walks with their pets, given Wildwood's 13 miles of multiuse trails and and . She said they get quite a few visitors from being close to Purina Farms in Gray Summit, MO.

A $50 pet deposit is required, which is refunded upon a room inspection from the hotel's general manager at check-out. Duewer said it works well for pet owners to bring crates. "When some pet owners have dogs inside their rooms, they hang a 'do not disturb' sign on the door knob, which signals to the housekeeping staff to not open the door," she said. "Dog owners often let us know at the front desk when they are leaving with their dogs so we straighten and clean without disrupting the pets."

Duewer said they have equipment and a process to thoroughly clean all rooms.

She said she hopes pet lovers will stop by her table at Monday night's contest and pet event to pick up a treat.
