Looking to step out of Wildwood for a few moments and into the Old-World style of Europe? Then step into The Wildwood Hotel for a stay, or now a special event.

Thursday, the hotel staff celebrated the opening of their new conference center by inviting city leaders, officials, Wildwood Business Association members, chamber of commerce members, and civic representatives to a ribbon cutting ceremony and grand opening event. The evening included a band, background materials about the conference center, sample food and table setup, and of course, a tour of the overall hotel.

Rachel Duewer, director of sales for the hotel, said the new center is now available for banquets, receptions, conventions, meetings and all types of special events. She said the new large room can hold 300 people, if seating in banquet style, or 210 in classroom style. If seating in theatre style, the room can accommodate up to 450 people.
