Wildwood Businesses Remain Open During Route 109 Repair

Business managers located near the intersection of Missouri Route 109 and Highway 100 fear customers will get the wrong impression about access to their locations, due to month-long closure of Route 109.

Businesses located at the most southwestern part of Wildwood's Town Center will be affected by the closing of Missouri Route 109 for repairs, if customers believe that the entire Route 109 is not accessible to traffic.

Jeff Allee, owner of , said impressions that businesses are not available to customers is a major concern, especially after the same set of business owners and institutions, such as the , just went through this exact challenge seven months ago when Route 109 was closed for six weeks.

Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) officials told Patch Tuesday that they would make a concerted effort to readdress the language on their mobile signs and make it as precise as possible.

MoDOT area engineer Karen Yeomans also said additional signage to increase awareness that businesses, such as the , are still open might be possible.
