TWIST It Up

A new, frozen yogurt shop in Wildwood enables customers to select their own portions and toppings.

Just in time for summer, a new TWIST Frozen Yogurt Cafe is open in the Wildwood Town Center. The "fro yo" products there offer a healthy, low-fat dessert at a fraction of the calories. Their products also provide variety and taste by featuring frozen yogurts with real blueberry, strawberry, chocolate, vanilla and more natural flavors. The frozen yogurts are made with low and no sugar alternatives.

Store manager Angie Sexe said they have had a lot of customers since they opened, especially on the really hot days. "All our flavors are popular, especially the Dreamy Dark Chocolate."

On any given day, the TWIST staff has 12 rotating flavors. They also offer a non-dairy and a no sugar-added flavor as well. This week they have orange sherbert and wild strawberry, for example.

There is no fixed pricing at TWIST, as customers pay by the ounce. Fill up the cup with one's choice of flavors in a single, multiple or twist flavor combination, and add one or more of the 50 plus toppings.

TWIST's website states "All TWIST Frozen Yogurts are fat free or low fat, low sugar, or no sugar added, gluten free, include certified live probiotic yogurt cultures to promote a healthy immune system and are a great source of protein and calcium."

To demonstrate their commitment to providing the finest product available, TWIST partners with Honey Hill Farms' line of Sugar Creek Foods for their yogurt products because they are kosher-certified.

TWIST has indoor and outdoor seating, with a second location in Edwardsville, IL. The store is open seven days a week; summer hours are currently 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
