Six Flags to Audition for Singers, Dancers, Hosts in Eureka

Auditions will be held at Six Flags St. Louis' Palace Theatre in Eureka, starting Saturday. Stage performers must be at least 16 years of age by the beginning of rehearsals and street characters may be 15 years of age for employments.

Six Flags St. Louis managers will host annual auditions on Feb. 23 and March 2 in Eureka for singers, dancers, show hosts and characters for the 2013 season. The audition schedule is: Saturday, February 23, is for singers only; Saturday, March 2, is for dancers, show hosts and street characters. 

SINGERS WHO DANCE – Feb. 23

Registration is 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. with auditions beginning at 8:30 a.m. Prepare two contrasting selections (one country, one pop/rock) with music on CD/iPod; no a cappella singing or backup vocals are allowed. Singers should be prepared to dance and do cold reading. 

DANCERS, SHOW HOSTS, STREET CHARACTERS – March 2

Registration is 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. with auditions beginning at 8:30 a.m. Dancers should wear comfortable clothing and dance shoes, barefoot/socks are not allowed. Dancers may be asked to learn a dance combination on site. Street characters should bring a T-shirt and compression or standard shorts, and must be prepared to be fitted for costumes.

Six Flags St. Louis Public Relations Manager Elizabeth Gotway said stage performers must be at least 16 years of age by the beginning of rehearsals and street characters may be 15 years of age for employments. She said candidates should be prepared to provide a list of dates that would conflict with a summer performance schedule, as well as be prepared to stay all day until all auditions are complete.
