Restaurant Review Round-Up: Big Bear Grill

See what people are saying about restaurants in the Eureka and Wildwood area.

This week's review round-up is grabbing a booth at Big Bear Grill, located in Wildwood Crossing on Manchester Road.

Before we get to the reviews, here's a description of the establishment, courtesy of our directory

"Arnie Freed had a vision of a restaurant that served exceptional food in a relaxed and rustic environment. Freed gave the town of Wildwood just that with the Big Bear Grill. Freed's sons, Jeff and David and longtime business partner, Ken Tracy, continue to execute the vision long after Freed's passing. The rustic charm of the restaurant transports customers from the busy streets of Wildwood to a cabin-like retreat in the rural woods of Missouri."

From Patch

Mark Jenkens: "First, can you please clean your restaurant? Not a good sign when I open the menu and find it probably hasn't been wiped clean since the opening. Worse yet is the dark and dank decor."

Brandon Fry: "My favorite is the Ranch and Blue Cheese dressing mixture they make. Goes great with the wings!"

From Yelp

Ben S.: "Somehow, we both had a taste for fish so the wife went with the fried walleye and I opted for the baked ... Mine was amazing!  Perfectly cooked and expertly seasoned.  It had a slightly Italian flavor and came with a side of cavatelli in house-made red sauce that was also quite good."

Lewis C.: "Fantastic pepper jack potato soup, Santa Fe salad is fresh and tasty, Guinness on tap, and friendly service!  Can't get much better... My only criticism is the decor is worn and dated."

Gregory P. "Friendly relaxed atmosphere. The burger was excellent. The homemade chips were ok. The fried walleye was great and the onion rings were yummy too. The margaritas were very good, too. Something that seems not all that common."
