Restaurant Inspections: Serious Review for Eureka's Steak 'n Shake

Observed food workers handling lemons and limes for drinks with bare hands. Corrected on site. Observed hand sinks with no signage as well as accumulated dirt and debris. Observed uncovered chicken and other food products in reach in cooler in prep/cook area. Observed open food in break room that may attract flies.

Flies seen in establishment in kitchen, lobby, and restroom areas. Observed several pans of prepped hamburger/steak patties with no proper date marking. No proof of hep a for food workers at establishment. Establishment has 30 days to present hep a records.

Observed food worker preparing food with gloves used to prepare both raw and ready to eat foods and wiping gloves on apron with accumulated grease and food debris. Observed wet towels stored outside of sanitizer. Observed dirty soup spoon hanging on wall in kitchen. Observed tongs with handle in contact with chicken in pan in prep line cooler. Corrected on site. Tongs removed.

Observed vent in mop room with accumulated debris. Observed fan vent in kitchen area with accumulated dust debris. Observed can opener with accumulated debris. Observed accumulated debris in several reach in coolers in prep area and kitchen. Observed accumulated debris in drain and dish area. Observed walls in dish area with accumulated dirt. Observed machine used to prepare shakes with accumulated debris. Observed cheese dispensing machine with accumulated debris.

Observed soda nozzles with accumulated debris. Observed walls near drive thru area with accumulated dirt. Observed microwaves with accumulated debris. Observed dish machine with accumulated debris, dirty water and in disrepair. Observed accumulated dirty dishes with food product to be discarded in kitchen and dish areas.

Observed multiple wet mops not hanging properly to dry. Observed drain near ice machine not flush and with accumulated debris. Observed cracked light shield in walk in freezer.
