UPDATE: Los Cabos Restaurant Opens Tuesday Morning in Eureka

Although the owners of this new Eureka-based restaurant hoped to open just prior to Eureka Days this month, there were a few items the St. Louis County Department of Health inspector wanted updated, compared to the setup that was in place at this same location previously operating as Fortel's Pizza.

Instead, Los Cabos Restaurant will open this evening, said Julie Wood, Eureka director of economic development.

Los Cabos is located at 54 Legends Plaza, and will cater to a Mexican family-style menu.

The restaurant's owners, Ron and Kathy Hallows, also own two restaurants of the same "Los Cabos" name, one in Washington and the other in St. Clair. They feature lunch specials, appetizers, children's plates, soups, vegetarian plates, salads, a la carta items, side orders and desserts. They also will offer a special Mexican-style pizza.

The restaurant's capacity is 180 to 200 diners. There is a more private section in the restaurant that can be reserved for special occasions.

Los Cabos typical hours of operation are:

• Monday through Thursday:  11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
• Friday and Saturday:  11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
• Sundays: 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
