Go Acoutistic on Thursdays at Wildwood Pub & Grill

HEAR SAMPLES OF MUSIC ON THESE VIDEOS: For diners who seek some great rock and blues with their meal, head to Wildwood Pub & Grill on Thursday evenings.

Wildwood Pub & Grill owner Jeff Allee is hosting "Autumn Nights on the Patio" from 6-9 p.m. Thursdays, featuring live acoustic music by Johnny Chase.

"I would classify my music as rock and pop from the 60s through 90s, plus soulful music based on now," Chase said.

Chase’s solo debut was entitled "801 Days."

His song, "By Your Side," has been used multiple times on the MTV hit show NEXT, while his "Fear to Fall," has been included on HBO’s Entourage Season 3 promo spots and DVD.

Chase said "801 Days" spotlights 11 self-penned songs that are filled with first-hand feelings. The CD’s title poignantly refers to the number of days Chase’s young son lived. Originally written to facilitate his own healing after his son’s death, Chase said he decided to record the songs for others to hear, hoping it would help listeners endure life’s evitable heartbreaks, large and small.

His song "Breakdown" was featured in an independent/indie movie called Fear Chamber.

Music has been his main source of income for the past six or seven years, he said. "Some of my songs are used as background music for TV shows, such as Ellen and The Tyra Banks Show."

In 1998, he established the band, Astralflight, which his sister, Sarah Schniepp, fronted. He was the guitarist and main songwriter for the band’s 2000 release, "The Way That I Am," with some assistance from Schniepp.

"There are a lot of musicians in Wildwood and other St. Louis cities," he said. The most common comment he gets when performing is about how "so many people used to be in a band."
