Business Managers: Claim Free Marketing Assistance

"Places" is a comprehensive, online directory listing tool that Eureka-Wildwood Patch offers to business owners and managers. Claiming your existing listing to use is free and simple. Patch readers can even rate and comment on each entity.

Businesses leaders have a revenue-generating tool at their fingertips in a specific portion of Eureka-Wildwood Patch, under the site's tab called Places. Before we launched the editorial side of Eureka-Wildwood Patch on Nov. 3, 2010, we built the most comprehensive online directory available in our area, complete with instant mapping location features.

Our Patch directory contains photos of your establishment, specialities and offerings, location details, hours of operation, and other essential factors, such as type of payment accepted and contact details.

Patch readers also have a wonderful way to provide feedback and to rate local businesses, nonprofits, schools and organizations in the same spot of the website. Have you checked to see if anyone has left comments about your entity?

Your directory listing gives your business a voice on Patch. And, if you're an active user, your friends, neighbors and potential new customers get a better sense of who you are and what your business offers.

As our readers see your business name interacting on the site, you build credibility, establish a personality behind your brand and make an impression in customers' minds. You also can link to your listing from your social media accounts, such as Facebook and Twitter.

By claiming your listing, you will find more value in your space on Patch. It's a place to interact with and connect with the Eureka-Wildwood community outside of your physical business location. Directory listings also were done for nonprofit organizations, such as all the schools and churches in the area, so be sure to leverage Patch's reach in attracting volunteers, congregants and donors.

HOW TO CLAIM BUSINESS DIRECTORY LISTINGS:

  1. Visit the Eureka-Wildwood Patch site. If you're already a user, make sure you "sign in" first, a feature located at the top of the upper, righthand corner of the site's Home page. Anyone with Internet access can see the information provided by Patch, but to interact with the site, one must be signed in. If you're not a user, then first "sign up," which is located in the same spot.
  2. Click on the "Places" tab near the top of the Home page.
  3. Search for your business/organization and click on it.
  4. Scroll half down the page to where it says, "Do you own or manage this location? Claim it!" Click on "Claim It."
  5. Login and complete the four-question form providing all necessary information to expedite your claim.
  6. We take claiming seriously, so please allow three to five business days for us to evaluate and approve your claim. You will be notified via email once it is approved.

Some businesses, particularly restaurants, appreciate being able to post their seasonal business offerings that come and go, in addition to special sales. There are all sorts of possibilities for your listing; ask us and we'd be glad to brainstorm with you about options.
