The St. Louis Sports Commission will host a free clinic for area soccer coaches on Thursday, Aug. 2 at Maryville University.

The St. Louis Sports Commission will host a free clinic for area soccer coaches on Thursday, Aug. 2 at Maryville University.  The Coach It Right! clinic begins at 6 p.m. and will feature instruction from one of St. Louis’ best soccer minds, Missouri Youth Soccer Association Coaching Director Denny Vaninger.  Vaninger will demonstrate proper techniques, provide tips on coaching kids and instill lessons on sportsmanship.  Every coach who attends and completes the course will receive his or her ‘F’ level license free of charge.

Coaches can register for the clinic online at http://www.stlsports.org/sportsmanship/events/register.php or call 314-345-5130.

Coach It Right! is a program of the St. Louis Sports Commission’s Sportsmanship Initiative, which informs and inspires those involved in youth sports.  The Sportsmanship Initiative seeks to make St. Louis a model community for good sportsmanship and create positive environments for kids to play sports so they remain active and lead healthier, happier lives.  Focused on progressive coaching education, skill development and sportsmanship, Coach It Right! clinics are free to volunteer youth coaches.  Experienced instructors teach valuable concepts that help coaches provide great experiences for the kids they coach.
