St. Mark's Lutheran Youth Perform Star of Wonder

A group of Eureka youth singers and performers bring the traditional Nativity story alive.

Children from in began the Christmas season Dec. 11 by performing "Star of Wonder," a fun, modern-day musical based on The Nativity. Through history, Nativity scenes were inspired from accounts of the birth of Jesus Christ in the Bible's gospels of Matthew and Luke.

The St. Mark's youth cast featured a “band” of shepherds, a group of “wee” three kings, and the aptly named “Superstar,” a singer who serenaded Mary and baby Jesus with a Christmas lullaby, said Brenda Madden Kimberlin, Lutheran Elementary School Association media coordinator.

Select choir members from St. Mark's church and school led the worship songs performed within the play.
