Blue Canyon Boys in Concert at Labadie Station

Labadie Native Comes Home to Play Concert Series

Labadie native, Jason Hicks will be coming home to play along with his band the Blue Canyon Boys August 18th at the Labadie Station’s Outdoor concert series.

Jason ,son of Debbie Wagonseller and David Hicks, has been based in Colorado for many years and most recently while not working as a master cabinet maker has been traveling the world with his band The Blue Canyon Boys.  Winners of the 2008 Telluride Bluegrass festival band contest as well as performing in 2011 in Borneo at the World Music Festival; the Blue Canyon Boys offer a unique style of Colorado Bluegrass steeped in tradition with enough excursions to keep all types of music lovers tapping their feet. This bluegrass powerhouse consists of Gary Dark on mandolin, Jason Hicks on guitar, Drew Garrett on bass, and Texas native and banjoist Chris Elliott.

Blending incredible brother-duet-style vocals and hard-driving instrumental proficiency, this energetic band is driving audiences to their feet and keeping them there. With four well-received albums of originals and interpretations of traditional songs by the likes of Monroe, Stanley, and McReynolds, the Blue Canyon Boys have become one of Colorado’s most celebrated Front Range bluegrass bands.

The Blue Canyon Boys will perform at Labadie Station Saturday August 18th taking the stage at 6pm, gates open at 5pm. Bring your lawn chairs, picnic baskets & coolers.Labadie United Methodist Church will also be selling BBQ !! Tickets are $10 (children  under 12 free) and are available at Labadie Station 128 Front St. Labadie Mo.
