Whiz Kids: Rockwood Swim Club Takes Second at Oklahoma Sectionals

Two Wildwood-based swimmers were part of this great effort. They then competed in the National Club Swimming Association Junior Nationals meet in Florida March 22-26.

Two Wildwood-based swimmers and their teammates recently did much better than 'OK' in Oklahoma!

Earlier this month, 45 members of the Rockwood Swim Club (RSCA) traveled to Oklahoma City to compete at the 2011 CSRVIII Speedo Championship Meet. They returned with the event's overall second place trophy.

The Speedo meet, which was held March 3-6, consisted of three and half days of intense competition with preliminaries and finals. In addition to taking second place overall against 38 teams, the RSCA women placed second, and men's team placed third.

"We had strong team performance from top to bottom with impressive peer leadership,” said RSCA national coach Mary Liston.

“Many of our swimmers came out of a high school swim season to break new boundaries and create excellence for our club once again. We’re glad to have them all back together as a group, and our entire staff is very proud of them."
