View Eureka Days 2011

Rain or shine, the annual Eureka Days celebration continues as planned. Check out these photos to see if you recognize someone you know.

Thousand of patrons attended held at Sept. 9-10. New events were added this year to traditional favorites, and the carnival rides were placed on pavement this year. The entertainment was stellar.

After a preview of carnival rides Thursday evening and Smash Band entertaining the crowd Friday night, festivities kicked off bright and early on Saturday morning with the . Despite some rain showers, more than 400 participated in the 5K Run and 25 youths ran the 1-mile race.

By mid-morning, the streets in were closed, and residents lined the streets to view the parade. A total of 65 entities were in the parade, including school groups, churches, many local businesses, sports teams, bands, the city's mayor and aldermen.

Saturday afternoon, activities were drowned out by rain but cleared up again just in time for Saturday evening events, which included a strong man competition followed by the popular band, Well Hungarians taking the main stage, and fireworks at the end of the evening.
