Toys for Tots Drive Ends Next Friday

A Marines' Toys for Tots toy drive is again being conducted this year in Eureka. Have you donated?

A total of 31 collection boxes for the Marines' Toys for Tots drive are out in Eureka this year, about a third more than last year.

Organizers hope to collect more than 1,000 toys for children in need in the greater St. Louis area.

Marines are scheduled to pick up the toys from Eureka at The Wallach House on Friday, Dec. 14, from noon to 1 p.m. Laurie Price, of the Wallach House, said at least one uniformed Marine and some representatives from the Semper Fi society will attend that day.

"Our city leaders will be present to represent the members of the community without whom we could not offer such a great donation to the campaign," said Price.

She said the Eureka Fire Protection District representatives bring their awesome flag to fly over the toys and help draw attention to this worthy mission.

"Please consider having a representative of your business or department at the pick up Friday, so all can be acknowledged in this effort. We ask that all boxes be delivered to Wallach House by Thursday, Dec 13," said Price.

Eureka Chamber of Commerce members brought new toys to their Wednesday holiday luncheon meeting to donate to this drive. The box was filled, as evidenced in the photo that accompanies this article.
