Somewhere Over the Rainbow Is A Flood

Be sure to look at all the following photos to get a complete picture of what was happening in Eureka Thursday evening. Now the flood has taken Eureka High School's soccer and ball fields again.

Thanks to an astute Eureka resident, photographer and Patch reader, Bertie Dame, who provided the following photos from yesterday's odd dichotomy of rain/flood/rainbow—all in the span of a few hours.

Flood waters yesterday finally took over the soccer and ball fields again at Eureka High School.

The latest water level observations provided by National Weather Service experts is from 9:30 this morning. The level in Eureka now is 27.63 feet. They are still predicting it to crest at 28 feet as of 1 a.m. Saturday.

It certainly was quite a spectacular rainbow last night, just before 7 p.m.
