Pets can be especially treated on Halloween in Wildwood. Register to participate in the Patch Pet Party at Halloween event, which will include a pet parade and contests at Wildwood Town Center on Halloween evening (Oct. 31).
Trophies and prizes will be awarded for the top five places in two categories. The two top winners of each category also will each receive $30 gift cards donated by .
Representatives of the , , , and Eureka-Wildwood Patch teamed up to provide a free, fast and fun Halloween celebration that's for pets as well as their human companions.

Gather around Wildwood's Town Center Plaza (near the fountain area) by 5:30 p.m. Monday to prepare for a parade and costume contest. There will be prizes and giveaways. There also will be plenty of special treats for pets and kids -- some donated by Purina Farms.
Have a free photo of you and your dressed-up pet(s) taken at the Patch Photo Booth.
The parade will start promptly at 6 p.m. Participants will be judged for two categories:
- best pet costume and
- best pet/owner look-a-like contest.
Pets should have updated shots and be leashed or in carriers. Dogs, cats and pocket pets are welcome.
After the parade and contest, enjoy kettle corn, chips and drinks while interacting with pet-related vendors and gathering helpful tips and information. Examples of those who will be onhand are , Manchester West Veterinary Hospital (free drawing prizes such as collars and Halloween bandannas giveaway), St. Louis County Animal Control (canine demonstration), and the . Kona Ice will provide hot chocolate, coffee and shaved ice. Metro West Fire Protection District truck and ambulance will be nearby.
Free balloons, glow necklaces, crafts and temporary tatoos also will be available for children. A disc jockey will provide Halloween-oriented music. Volunteers from the National Honor Society also will be assisting. The event is scheduled to conclude at 7 p.m. so participants can still trick-or-treat in their personal neighborhoods.
This event will be held in all but dangerous weather, such as a storm or lightning.
