Rabies Test Results Back for Bat Found in Wildwood

What did the final report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention indicate when a bat from Wildwood was tested for rabies during the past couple of days?

As reported Monday, a dead bat in was picked up by St. Louis County Health Department's Animal Control last week and tested for rabies.

Those who handle veterinary services with the county's health department remind homeowners to make sure their pets' immunizations are up-to-date, because rabies can be passed readily from wild animals to domestic pets. Once transmitted, rabies has no cure and is almost always fatal. Health officials urge people to watch for and report any animal that is behaving strangely and teach children to stay away from any unknown animals.
