A group of Missouri Baptists observed this year's Easter celebration by carrying an 80-pound, wooden cross one-by-one from Kansas City to St. Louis. The final leg of the 10-day prayer walk began early on the morning of Good Friday from the in Wildwood.

Organizers indicated the event was conceived as a way to encourage members of the church community to share their faith with others.

Despite a forecast of thunderstorms, participants in the walk expressed devout commitment to the completion of their journey, suggesting that difficult circumstances might give them an even greater opportunity to meditate on the suffering that Jesus experienced.  For the most part, precipitation was light and at times, the faithful walkers even enjoyed a little sunshine as they made their way along Manchester to their final destination at Tower Grove Baptist Church.
