MoDOT Set to Begin Major Work on Route 109 July 15

A major road project in the Eureka-Wildwood area is to start July 15.

The Missouri Department of Transportation will close one lane at night on Route 109 between I-44 and Route 100 until the fall starting the week of July 15. MoDOT crews will be doing paving work on multiple intersections between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., weather permitting.

With one lane closed for the entire duration of the project, MoDOT will be escorting traffic through the area with a pilot car. The car is a construction vehicle with emergency lights and a sign identifying it is used to guide motorists safely through a narrow work zone.

MoDOT is advising motorist to be on the lookout for the pilot car, flagging operations and work zone signs. Motorists can expect long delays and are urged to avoid this section of Route 109 during these nighttime hours if possible. Motorists should use alternate routes.
