Mammography Van Came to Wildwood

Area women had the chance to receive mammograms, a small step that can save lives.

The Siteman Cancer Center mammography van was available to area women at the on Tuesday to provide mammograms to women 40 and older.

Regular mammography is the method that finds the smallest lump, about the size of an apple seed, while the average size lump found by women checking their breasts is the approximate size of a cherry tomato. While not every lump is cancerous, a woman's risk of getting breast cancer increases after the age of 50.

Here is a schedule for the van's remaining stops; women can catch it in nearby Ballwin on March 16.
