Geggie Little Schoolhouse Tumbled in Storm

While the regular, real building in Eureka appeared unharmed by Saturday morning's microburst, the same could not be said about the little schoolhouse that became an iconic outdoor classroom area on the border of the school's parking lot.

Eureka-Wildwood Patch reader Sheri Slattery also noticed what had happened to the little schoolhouse, and she shared a photo, which accompanies this article.

Slattery confirmed the little schoolhouse originally was created for a Eureka Days float to represent Geggie Elementary. It then was set in an outdoor classroom/memory garden for a teacher who died:  Marlene Bequette. The outdoor classroom was done in conjunction with the Missouri Department of Conservation, and supported through the Missouri Conservation Heritage Foundation.
