The pantry is open two days a week on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on the lower level lot at Eureka United Methodist Church.

Saturday's gathering was hosted by three area churches and a community leader organization:  , Eureka United Methodist Church, and Knights of Columbus.

The idea of this event started out being a bike ride to raise money for the Eureka Food Pantry by Mike McCartney, Gary Thurman, Wes Sir, Donnie Delmain, Jeff Bredhal and John Schosay. Twenty-eight motorcycle riders participated in this event. Mike Rock, of Eureka, placed first, and Brandi Alcorn, of Villa Ridge, took second place.

A car show was held all afternoon and evening, with a wide variety of 35 cars on display. This was a big crowd draw and popular event. Winners were as follows:

  • Overall Winner - Mark Winka, of Eureka, 1948 Chevy
  • First Place - Mandy Delmain, 1970 Challenger

  • Third Place - Vincen Eisenreich, Model A Ford

Throughout the day, several vendors were available serving food, drinks, snow cones and more. representatives had cold wet towels for those who needed to cool off from the heat.

In the evening, the popular band SH-BOOM entertained a crowd of more than 100 supporters at this year's first-ever Funds4Food Benefit. Organizers said they hoped it will be an annual event.

Saturdays Funds4Food Car Cruise, Bike Ride & SH-BOOM Concert event turned out to be a successful day, we raised a lot of money for the Eureka Food Pantry. The committee would like to thank all the people who brought out their cars and the motorcycle riders; all who braved the heat to make this event work. We especially want to thank all the people who came out to look at these great cars and spent their money on the food and who gave us donations. Oh yes, we can't forget to thank the 3 pastors from Eureka United Methodist Church, St. Marks Lutheran Church and Central Baptist Church for stepping up and going into the dunking booth to raise some money. Although I think it must have been a very refreshing dunk considering the temperature. Thanks again to everyone from the Funds4Food committee, we'll see you again next year..
