Eureka Days 2012 Festival Under Way This Weekend

Families have today's chance to attend this annual festival. Are you heading there?

The Eureka Days Festival held in and opened Thursday night with $1 carnival ride preview night, which was well attended with an estimated 500 to 750 fair attendees strolling the midway and riding the rides.

The fair goes through Saturday evening and closes at 11 p.m. 

Eureka Days features carnival rides, children’s activities, talent expo, kid’s corner, nearly 100 vendors, beer garden and a Saturday morning 5K run and a parade.

Also on Saturday, a self-described party band, The UltraViolets, will entertain on the main stage from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. A fireworks display will begin at 9:30 p.m.

The organizations supporting the festival include The Eureka Chamber of Commerce, City of Eureka, Eureka Days Committee and various civic groups.
