Elle Salon & Spa Honors Earth Day
The annual Earth Day will be celebrated this year on April 22. Here's a local way to contribute toward clean resources and a good cause being hosted by a salon and spa in Eureka.
For a $5 donation at Elle Salon & Spa in Eureka this month for Aveda Earth Month, donors will be entered into a salon give-away to win one of the following prizes:
- $30 in free Aveda products
- Free haircut, blow dry and style
- Free 30-minute Swedish massage
- 50 percent off the next service at Elle Salon
- 25 percent off another service
- Free Aveda hand relief product
Donors receive a limited edition candle as part of the Light The Way campaign, which is devoted to helping people have clean water to change lives. The soy wax candle has organic spices.
For the past six years, Light The Way candle purchases and donations have raised more than $6 million to help Global Greengrants fund hundreds of water projects, such as the one enjoyed in Madagascar, by children who drew the artwork on this year's candle box package.

Elle's team hopes to raise $600 or more locally; 100 percent of local donations goes to this Light The Way program. The salon is located at 15 E. 1st St.
