More About Eureka Police Department
Eureka police officers take their emergency management roles so seriously, they have tried and perfected various approaches to community policing. Department officials have their own tactical operations unit, K-9 division, detective squad and bike patrol units.
The department maintains a breakdown of local crime statistics andwhen a burglary, larceny or vandalism occurs, a letter is generated about the event and mailed to the entire subdivision affected within 24 hours of the occurrence.
Eureka police officers also participate in and monitor the St. Louis County Crime Incident Map.
A full-time school resource officer (SRO) stationed at Eureka High School serves as a liason between the school and the police department.
Eureka police officers work jointly with local elementary schools to execute the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program.
