More About West County Community Church
Declaring that "Jesus is enough," the core values for West County Community Church include holiness, stewardship, compassion, servanthood, humility, integrity, following the scriptures and leading by example. This church's membership is comprised of persons with diverse backgrounds, including Assembly of God, Baptist, Catholic, Church of Christ, Episcopalian, Evangelical Free, Jewish, Lutheran, Methodist, non-denominational, Presbyterian, and no religious background. Its self-proclaimed emphasis is not on what group someone belonged to in the past, but on the life-changing privileges of "knowing Jesus Christ as one's personal Lord and Savior."
It has weekly AWANA (Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed) programs for children who are three years old to 5th grade during September through May. It also has a ZOE Chapter program for middle and high school students at the on-site ZOE House. The "TruWonder" program is designed to reveal the wonder of God for preschool and pre-kindergarten children. The "TruStory" program reveals the story of God's redemptive plan for kindergarten- and elementary-aged kids.
The church's 30-acre complex also anchors Living Water Academy, a distinctly Christian pre-k (ages two to five) through 8th grade school in Wildwood. It has its own fishing pond, sand volleyball court, and several soccer fields. Construction of a 36,736 square-foot building began in June of 2007 to provide a full-size gym, 15 additional classrooms, and a chapel seating 160.
