What Should Move In Here? Can't DQ-it Anymore

Tell Patch readers what you'd like to see in this empty location formerly occupied by Dairy Queen in Eureka.

Businesses come and go, and it's easy to miss one that delivered creamy desserts. This building has been vacant after the Dairy Queen owners decided to retire, but it was operating when Eureka-Wildwood Patch launched on Nov. 3, 2010.

The owners had just closed in December when Patch did the following article during January 2011: Even in Winter, We Scream for Ice Cream

The Dairy Queen in Eureka had serviced residents for five years prior. Local officials indicated higher rental costs for the property was a major factor in their decision to shut down.

Anyone else keep envisioning some sort of hypnotist in the building, due to the eye-shaped oval DQ logo area still prominent at the front of the building?

How about a bakery where people could get a cup of coffee and a donut or two on their way to work or any time during the day.

I've noticed a lack of deli's in Eureka. Maybe a Mr. Goodcents or Penn Station or even a Subway.

Is there a deli-like theme developing here? At least bread and meat!

I think target should come to eureka. Buy all the lots next to it including DQ and the old hotel parking lot in front of it and build it there. So tired of shopping at Walmart. Also tired of sinking my tax dollars into wildwood, ballwin, gravios bluffs, because eureka doesn't want eureka to grow.

Chipotle! We don't need a deli, Subway's just a few seconds away, and BreadCo's about a minute down the road. We already have so much fast food, it's unnecessary, overrated and frankly, unhealthy. Chipotle would be a wonderful ethnic, healthy and delicious addition to the community. (:
