I-44 Accident Sends Three Texans to Hospital
Post-storm conditions likely played a role in a Wednesday evening accident on westbound Interstate 44.
A 24-year-old driver from Texas was traveling westbound on Interstate 44 Wednesday at 7:15 p.m. when the 2006 Toyota Tundra she was driving traveled off the left side of the roadway, struck a guard rail and overturned.
Stephanie Stephens' accident occurred on I-44, just west of Highway 50, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol reports. Authorities indicated she was traveling too fast for the conditions.
Also in the vehicle from Fort Hood, TX, were Jade Stephens, 25 years old, and Joslyn Stephens, less than 1 year old.
All three family members were taken to Mercy Hospital in Washington, MO, by a Union ambulance crew. All three were wearing their seat belts.
The vehicle was totaled and towed from the accident scene. No other cars or drivers were involved, according to Highway Patrol officers.
The current medical conditions of this family are unknown.
