Emily Barklage, a Eureka resident, was chosen as a national finalist in the “Backstory” category in Canon’s Project Imaginat10n contest. The program is presented by Canon and celebrity director Ron Howard.

Barklage said her photo, “The Light from Behind,” can be voted on from now until Sept. 24. "If chosen, it can inspire a film directed by one of five celebrity directors," she said.
