Time Capsule Collected for New Wildwood City Hall
As the newly constructed Wildwood City Hall gets closer to completion, this week a time capsule of relevant items will be placed inside a wall of the new building.
Wildwood's new City Hall is expected to be done by the end of January. What would a new municipal building be without a time capsule? Contents for one were displayed at Tuesday's Wildwood city council meeting.
The capsule will be sealed inside a wall within the prosecutors' office, city administrator Dan Dubruiel announced at Tuesday's meeting.
"Components from the city's incorporation and memorbilia are key to why we're here tonight," said Wildwood Mayor Tim Woerther. "And we hope the work started here will prove to be quite fruitful and be looked upon as such when the capsule is opened 50 or 100 years from now."
Dubruiel said constructors wanted to install the capsule in the next couple of days.
Items expected to be included in the capsule were:
- Copy of Wildwood's charter, master plan, plan of intent
- City-themed brick
- Reusable bag
- "Incorporate Wildwood" bumper sticker
- Copy of Boundary Commission letter from Dec. 18, 1992
- Maps of city
- Council ward designation maps
- 2012 municipal budget
- Current event schedule
- Copy of Gazette newsletter
- Town Center map
