Twelve miles of asphalt, chat and single track trails await runners brave enough to face outdoor elements in Wildwood on Jan. 26.

The race begins and ends at LaSalle Springs Middle School. Runners must be at least 14 years old on the day of the race to enter. Organizers state the run will travel on several trails within Wildwood, including:

  • the Hamilton-Carr Greenway
  • the Al Foster Memorial Trail
  • the Rock Hollow Trail

While the race may be appropriate for runners of any level of experience, organizers also state the middle of the run represents a subtle challenge. It will be limited to 300 participants, all of whom will receive a performance shirt. City officials said on Friday more than half of the positions were filled.

Food and drinks will be provided at the finish line.

The race will take place regardless of weather conditions, but Wildwood city representatives and race organizers reserve the right to cancel if the course is deemed too dangerous.

Just curious as to who is receiving the $35.00 fee? Is it to cover the cost of the event or is it going to a needy cause?
