Pacific Woman Dies in Truck Crash Near Eureka
Thursday morning, a Pacific driver lost control and struck a guardrail before her truck was hit by a trailer truck driver as she bounced back across the roadway.
Mary Rallo, a 55-year-old Pacific resident, died in a truck crash that occurred Thursday at 7:52 a.m. She was driving on U.S. Highway 66, 1 mile west of Dozier Crossing near Eureka, when Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers said she lost control of her 2003 Dodge Dakota.
Rallo's truck struck a guardrail on the right, and traveled across Highway 66 before striking a guardrail on the left. As her truck was traveling back across the highway, authorities said it was hit by a 2013 Kenworth T660 trailer truck driven by Michael Middleton from North Las Vegas, NV.
Middleton is 54 years old, and was wearing his safety belt. Rallo was not wearing her safety belt, according to the highway patrol report.
Rallo was pronounced dead at the accident scene by Pacific Fire Protection District personnel. Her body was taken by a St. Louis County medical examiner to the St. Louis County Morgue.
Rallo's truck was totaled; Middleton's trailer truck was extensively damaged and towed from the scene by Hyndrich Brothers Towing.
