Onstage Takes the Stage

This Saturday's annual dinner show and silent auction event benefited Eureka High School's Onstage performing students.

 

This year's annual event in support of Eureka High School's song and dance performing students was called "An Evening with Onstage!"  Two performance sets were hosted at the school Saturday, complete with a meal and silent auction.

Onstage students served the meal to their guests, then shed their aprons and dazzled them with a well-rounded performance in the school's theater.  The group is directed by Donna Baker, Eureka High School's music teacher.

Technical crew members for the event included Megan Edmiston, Kasey Hancock, Graham Howatt, Miranda Luze, Scout Martinelli, Julie Merkle, Jaclyn Nischbach, Alex  Ranney, and Dan Roesch.

Songs featured in the event were (in order):

  • So You Think You Can Dance, which included a solo from Vince Dotson
  • The Way You Make Me Feel
  • Swing Dancin'
  • The Girl in 14G, which featured a solo from Samantha Rodgers
  • T-R-O-U-B-L-E
  • Please Mr. Postman
  • Proud Mary
  • Ain't No Mountain High Enough, which included a duet from Andres Lewis and Jessica Maldonado
  • Can't Fight This Feeling, which was one of the most powerful songs of the night
  • Cinema Italiano, which had a solo from Rebekah Roy and spotlighted glow-in-the-dark attire on the performers.

"Thank you to all our Onstage parents who volunteered their time to make this wonderful evening possible," said Baker.  "Special thanks also goes to all of our area businesses who have so graciously donated to our silent auction this evening."
