Metro Edge Figure Skating Club members took a holiday classic to the ice for the 8th annual "Nutcracker on Ice" presentation with four performances Dec. 8 and 9 at the Webster Groves ice arena.

World figure skating competitor Barbie Long, 16, of St. Louis, joined the show this year as a guest skater, hot off a gold medal win at the Midwest Sectional Championships for Junior Ladies to qualify for Nationals. Also joining the performers was world champion Igor Lisovski, a skating coach in St. Louis and 1981 World and European Pairs Champion.

Metro Edge figure skaters are from all over the St. Louis area, including Webster Groves, Brentwood, Chesterfield, Clayton, Kirkwood, Ladue, North St. Louis County, South St. Louis County and St. Peters. Some skaters come from as far as Jefferson City and Illinois cities, Fairview Heights and Alton.
