Mammography, an X-ray examination of the breasts, is the best test for identifying breast cancer before it can be felt – when the cancer is more likely to be curable.

Each exam on the van takes about 30 minutes, and the exam fee will be billed to the patient, her insurance company or Medicare. A Washington University radiologist reads all mammograms, and the results are reported to the patient and her physician.

The Siteman Cancer Center mammography van medical team next will offer breast cancer screenings nearby from 8 a.m. to 3:20 p.m. each of the following days:

Editor's Note: Schedulers said these mobile mammography vans typically are set up on an annual basis. They also said this van was hosted in Ballwin and Ellisville this summer, and they did not have any future dates slated for Manchester or Town and Country.
