Memorial for Alta Pratt

A memorial visitation and service for this Wildwood resident will be held Sunday afternoon at Schrader Funeral Home and Crematory in Ballwin.

Alta Pratt, age 77, of , and formerly of Platte City, MO, died Thursday, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Lufkin, TX, and spent her early years in Iraan, Del Rio and Corpus Christi, TX, while her father, a U.S. Marine, served in World War II on the islands of the Southwest Pacific. She was a homemaker and devoted her life to raising her children and caring for her family. She enjoyed traveling, reading, and tending her flowers. She most enjoyed the warmth and love of her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Horace B. Pratt, and three children, Cynthia A. Booth and husband Daniel, Mary Pratt Renz, and Mark B. Pratt and wife Corey. Also surviving are grandchildren Marie and Laura Booth, Ryan and Joshua Pratt and great grandchildren Jacob, Ava and Mariana. Preceding her in death were her parents Paul A. and Myrtle Cox and her brother Paul (Eddie) Cox.

A memorial visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, prior to a  memorial service at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Schrader Funeral Home and Crematory, 14960 Manchester Road at Holloway in Ballwin. Interment will be private.

A celebration of her life will be held in Kansas City at a later date.
