Local Groups Support Mardi Growl
PHOTO GALLERY: Following are photos of some of the groups and businesses that displayed booths at the Mardi Growl in Eureka Sunday afternoon. Crowd shots also are included.
Businesses, groups and volunteers who like puppy breath rallied to support the second annual Mardi Growl dog festival in Eureka Sunday. Businesses paid a small fee to exhibit and donated fun give-aways, too. Mardi Growl was co-sponsored by the Eureka Chamber of Commerce and the city of Eureka.
A portion of the event's proceeds will be donated to the Open Door Animal Sanctuary. The rest of the money will fund scholarships for Eureka High School students.
Eureka city staffers provide popcorn at Mardi Growl. Eureka restaurants provided the following:
- Michelle's Cafe shrimp and crawfish boil
- Johnny's Place jambalaya and 'howl'icanes
- Chick-N-Elly's cajun food and beer specials
- O'Dell's Irish Pub & Ale House shrimp etouffee and drinks
- Joe Boccardi's Ristorante cajun pasta
